The Residence

The Residence is an exclusive development on St Johns Street, the only surviving Georgian terraced street in central Manchester, historically well known for the exclusive connections with medical and legal professions. Entered via a grand entrance, the development consists of 10 unique apartments.

The exact dates for when St John's Street was created are a little unknown, but it does take it's name from the church so it would be fair to say that the property was created between 770 and 1890. Early residents would have been of different occupations, but as time has progressed the occupancy has become almost exclusively connected with the medical and legal professions.

The Residence sits adjacent to the St John Street Conservation Area. The boundary of the conservation area follows Artillery Street, Longworth Street, Camp Street, Culvercliffe Walk, Lower Byrom Street, Quay Street and Byrom Street. St John Street has changed in only minor ways since being built. Generally owners have ensured that regular maintenance has preserved the quality of the street. However, in 1963 a facelift, partially funded by the City Council, was carried out which involved replacement of incompatible items such as windows and nameplates. Painting of timberwork helped re-establish a consistency throughout the street.

The Tour

The Residence takes luxury to a whole new level which can be felt from the moment you open the grand entrance door into the building. This luxurious apartment is located on the third floor of the building which can be accessed via a lift or stairs, with it's own private lobby providing residents with privacy.

As soon as you enter the apartment you feel a sense of space and luxury through the large hallway with Casa Woods grey porcelain flooring running through to the open plan living area with underfloor heating and lighting connected by a smart system. An open plan kitchen/living area provides the perfect space for entertaining guests with large 120 x 120 porcelain tiles, coffered ceilings and niches continuing the luxurious feel. An open plan layout and high quality finishes bring this Georgian building into the 21st century whilst original features such as large sash windows touch on the original character of the development. From the third floor position of this apartment you have amazing views of the city centre and St John's Street itself which is a wonderful mix of greenery and traditional townhouses.

The kitchens at The Residence are as good as it gets with high end German Remp kitchens offering Infiniti Quartz work surfaces, Gaggenau appliances including a Hob, Microwave, Grill, Oven, Dishwasher & Fridge Freezer, Franke sink with Quooker tap and plenty of storage space.

Two good sized double bedrooms benefit from built-in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms providing the ultimate space for getting ready before heading out to explore everything the city centre has to offer. The feeling of luxury continues in the en-suite bathrooms with Calacatta tiles in the master with a mitred finish, Laufen, Roca and Grohe featured throughout and contemporary white sanitary-ware, chrome finished taps, drench showers and heated towel rails.

The Area

The Residence sits in the heart of Manchester at the junction of Deansgate & St John Street. Many of Manchester's most popular spots are literally on your doorstep including Alberts Schloss, Peter Street Kitchen, and The Great Northern Warehouse. The building is in the perfect position for easy access to both Deansgate and Victoria stations as well as having St Peter's Square MetroLink in close proximity. The property itself is located on the doorstep of Manchester's principal financial and professional services destination Spinningfields which offers a unique blend of civic, residential, hotel, leisure and retail space as well as housing the likes of Ivy Asia and 20 Stories.
